Changed the Blog Template again (shocking, I know)

Okay ladies.....I like this one much better.  More subtle colors and love that cute owl but this isn't so cute that you want to run from the page.  Let me know what you think of this one before I switch again.

Tangible Love

Check out Tara's blog, at the link below.  Such a touching story that brought tears to my eyes and an ache to my heart.

It is a touching reminder to everyone how precious those in our lives are to us. This post from "Blondie 'n' SC" is a real tear-jerker but reminds us that life is precious and how important it is to cherish every moment.

This was taken by me this past fall while driving between Illinois and Iowa at Sunset.
It is a bit fuzzy as I took it on my phone but beautiful.

Thanks to Tara for sharing her story.

The Beauty of Iowa

I spent the past weekend in lovely Northeast Iowa with the "man" in my life and his parents.

ps. This is a photo of us after church on Sunday (I'm the short blonde gal, he's the tall dark-haired guy...)  What a beautiful and happy day!

The photos below are of his parents homestead (farm), which is beautiful.  Growing up about 1 mile outside of town, I would be considered a "city gal" and farm life is outside of my knowledge base.  Although I grew up with corn/bean fields in the backyard of our quaint cul-de-sac of 20+ houses, we did not have farm animals or farm equipment.

The farm has the typical farm equipment, tractors, barns, storage buildings, fences, 2 ponies, 1 dog, 1 cat and lots of beautiful trees/flowers.  It was a beautiful day to be outside.

These are the two ponies that have been on the farm for many, many years.  They are gentle, but getting on in years so no longer stray from the property even without fencing.  So sweet.

Just one sweet pony wondering why the "City Gal" is fascinated by a pony eating grass and subsequently taking the sweet pony photo.

This was the beautiful landscape with a few daffodils starting to sprout behind the tree in the middle of the photo.  This photo was actually accidental as I was testing the camera, hence the skewed photo, but had to share anyway.

I look forward to returning to the farm when everything is fully in bloom.

p.s.  AND I got to take 2 "gator" (4 wheeled vehicle) rides around the property which was really cool for the "City Gal"....maybe next time I'll pet the ponies.  This time, just the cat and dog got "City Gal" petting.

iPad Digital Art #2

Here's another digital art piece done completely on the iPad with a Pogo stylus.  This one was completed in the free "ArtStudio" application for the iPad.

p.s. The bottom of the image was covered by the toolbar so I didn't see that I hadn't
completed that part of the image until I was finished.  Well....I learned something for next time.

Digital iPad Art #1

These are my first two attempts at doing digital art on my new iPad.  These were done with the free "Brushes" application on the iPad.

These were painted with the "Brushes" application and a Pogo stylus. Pretty basic at this point as I'm still learning what the program can do.

Spring Flowers

One of my favorite parts of spring is the beautiful flowers....like Poppies.

These photos just make me happy so thought I would share with you. Enjoy!!

Found a cool photo application that will let me keep photos on my iPad. Hoping this shows up as they are beautiful photos.

iPad test

Hello fellow bloggers, I bought an iPad on Saturday so have been playing and downloading applications instead of blogging. I will resume blogging once i figure out if this post shows up. There is a bit of a hiccup in the functionality for iPad and Blogger at the moment.

I am hoping that the work-around suggestion I found in the Apple forum works. So here goes.....

Juvenile Friday - The Orange Monkey

Good Friday Bloggers - This might or might not be the beginning of a regular Friday topic........we will see.  I am calling this Juvenile Friday as this has been a recent "Funny" to my circle of female friends so thought I would share with my blogger friends.  I have a small (yes we are juvenile-but heck you have got to have some fun in life) network of gal-pals who love to laugh about things that annoy others, especially some particular individuals.  An Orange Monkey photo has been a recent topic of hilarity.

Is "hilarity" a word?  And if it isn't, 'cuz i'm not looking it up, I'm using it anyway.

The monkey photo has not been well received by a particular "Fun Hater" as "they" find the photo (and probably monkeys of any kind) to be offensive.  Oh boy, the fact that someone can be so "put off" by a photo of a money......well this really winds us up a notch in our level of juvenile-ism.  We have literally laughed ourselves silly (and to tears) by posting the photos in view of the "Fun Hater".

Here are a few Orange Monkey photos for your juvenille enjoyment (LOL).

Now really, isn't this just the funniest little bright orange money you have ever seen?

Awww...look at the baby monkey......she is so adorable!!

Now this guy looks like a grandpa monkey to me.........but he's still funny.
How would you like to look like this?

Some people really need to live life more fully and have some fun.  Act like a kid now and then, even if is stupid and juvenile, you will laugh more and feel better.

Hugs,  Erin
